Community members as decision-makers.
LCMF has approached traditional chiefs and is engaging mothers’ clubs regarding its proposed Msundwe girls’ initiative. It intends to coordinate with schools, parents, female volunteers and qualified service providers as appropriate.
- Listen to local leadership without allowing gatekeepers to override fair participant selection
- Invite mothers’ clubs and female volunteers into mobilisation, mentoring and feedback where appropriate
- Discuss facilities, menstrual products and privacy with adolescent girls in safe, respectful ways
- Offer a route for participants to report concerns or challenge selection errors
- Work with relevant schools and public authorities through clear permissions and responsibilities
Being consulted does not mean each stakeholder has formally endorsed or signed an agreement to support every proposed activity.
Lusayo Academy is a separate initiative.
Construction of Lusayo Academy in the Msundwe area has begun. This separate educational development is undertaken by Lusayo Mwanganya Holdings Limited through its Lusayo Education and Development Division.
The Academy is mentioned as evidence of the wider long-term educational interest in the community. It is not an LCMF-funded project, Foundation-owned school, or part of the Foundation’s expenditure.
