Locally rooted in Malawi. Focused on dignity, opportunity and resilience.

Skills, voice, confidence and choice.

Economic participation and wellbeing are connected. LCMF proposes locally viable skills training, financial literacy, savings knowledge, mentorship and girls’ dignity initiatives.

  • Livelihood skills such as tailoring, appropriate small enterprises and locally validated trades
  • Budgeting, pricing, record-keeping, customer relations and enterprise readiness
  • Mentoring and women’s participation in community decisions
  • Accurate puberty and menstrual health education, with appropriate products and safe follow-up
  • Confidential pathways to qualified protection, social-welfare and health services when needed

Mothers’ clubs have an important role.

Local mothers’ clubs are being engaged as potential partners in mobilisation, culturally appropriate communication, mentoring, understanding barriers and sustaining dialogue after short projects end.

Participation will be voluntary and subject to safeguarding, confidentiality and documented responsibilities.

Safeguarding and accountability: LCMF seeks transparent participant selection, safe referral processes, appropriate consent, confidentiality, inclusive access and documented financial controls. Specialist services will be referred to qualified institutions.

Practical inclusion

  • Consider childcare, travel distance and affordable participation
  • Offer accessible training arrangements
  • Use clear vulnerability and selection criteria
  • Provide confidential feedback channels
